The clients sought to renovate their home and make it more open for the gatherings of the family and socializing. The upper part of the house was refurbished, but the layout remained the same. Meanwhile, the ground floor was extended to the front to create a better entrance porch. The wraparound extension to the side and the rear allowed for an open-plan kitchen-diner-living room. The existing garage at the back was partially demolished and converted into a utility room. The new exterior is minimal yet contemporary and complements the style of the original house.
